With the unquestionable support of the General Association of Students in Computer Science (AGEEI) from UQAM, through Jean-Philippe Caissy, the Hackus could find a beautiful place for organizing the hacks computer security contest in Montreal.

The AGEEI also wishes to emphasize its commitment to computer science students at UQAM. The association has allocated a budget of $ 1,000 to pay the registration fees of its students.

Mozilla is organizing a CTF on january 25.

Our CTF will be challenge based. We will present you tasks that are mostly independent from each other and can be solved separately. Topics will vary from Exploitation, Cracking, Crypto, Web Security (among others). The game will be limited to one day (i.e. 24 hours) and the team with the most points is announced the winner. Good examples for a CTF like this can be found here (Cheers to FluxFingers! :))

For experts and enthusiasts of computer security, we would like to officially announce that the Hackus – Before The End Of Time will be held on March 30-31 and April 1, 2012.

This year the competition will be at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). A complete set of challenge will be offered and way more. All this could not have been possible without the support of all members of the Hackus. Register!

A real world experience of what it’s like to pentest, forensic and pwned corporate network.

Found on the Internet, corporate network often consists of funky configurations created, often by eccentric paperless person and some old rooted fart. Sometimes broken, sometimes penetrated, the corporate network is a source of conflict and concern for a single person, the poor sysadmin. Furthermore, when credit cards are found on Pastebin and recovered by our lovely friend PastebinLeaks, the company calls in experts for small astronomical fees and calm down.

Pentest, forensics and intrusion will be there!
